WELCOME

Explore our website and see who we are and what we hope to achieve for the local with the members.

Mission

Our mission is to lead the local down a path where the members always come first, their opinions are always welcomed, and never dismissed or looked down upon. Every one of us on the Members Slate are currently working in the field under a Teamsters Contract, so we can all see it from the members point of view. We believe in having quarterly financial meetings, so the members know exactly where their hard-earned dues are going. The Local needs to read the Executive Board minutes at every General Membership meeting so there is true transparency.

MEMBER RESOURCES

There are current programs with the Local that need improved on as well as a few additional programs.

Local 916 Apprenticeship Program

Training is always a great thing, with this program the local can train anything from a CDL Driver, improve computer skills, OSHA certification training just to name a few of the many trainings available to members. Training to give members the tools and resources to advance in their field. This can be achieved with Workforce Grants along with the assistance of the current training facility in Joliet, Illinois.

Local 916 Strike Fund

Local 916 currently has a strike fund we need to expand on. It is an uneasy feeling when you are standing next to members on strike while they are worrying about feeding their families, while others are taking vacations. We will commit to donating a portion of the top local salaries to this fund. This fund can only be used for Labor strikes.

Hospital

Member Assistance Program

This program will be designed specifically for Members facing tragedies. There will be a Member Commitee chosen to review the application and submit recommendations to the Executive Board. We can have set amounts for some things however you can never prepare for every instance. We will commit a portion of the top local salaries to this fund.

Meet the Team

Our team is made up of hardworking individuals who proudly stand shoulder to shoulder with our members, dedicated to representing and supporting every member of Local 916.
